
The Road To Landmannalaugar

Landmannalaugar, a popular and visually stunning location in the Icelandic highlands situated within the Fjallabak Nature Reserve. A network of hiking trails winds its way through the reserve, several of which begin and end at the Landmannalaugar campsite and ranger station (with a geothermal hot spring). The are roads as well, featuring water crossings and variable levels of 4x4 driving challenge.
Landmannalaugar is at the northern end of the Laugavegur hiking trail, and the Iceland Touring Association operates a mountain hut accommodating hikers.
